ABOUT

Welcome to my website! This is where well-being, comfort, and conscious design come together.
With close attention to balance, I design spaces that feel good to be in and even better to live in. Whether you’re located near Voorburg, elsewhere in the Netherlands, or working with me remotely, I offer full support and guidance throughout the process. No matter where you are, we can create a home that truly feels like yours.
About me
I’m Kalina, the creative heart behind KVL Design, a boutique interior design studio based in Voorburg. I create spaces that feel good, look beautiful, and support your everyday well-being.
I grew up in Bulgaria, endlessly fascinated by how color, shape, and setting come together to influence the way we feel. That early curiosity grew into a deep passion for designing spaces, both in and around the home, that put people first. I pay close attention to personality, lifestyle, and individual needs.
What sets KVL Design apart?
At KVL Design, I help people create homes that support their lifestyle, reflect who they are, and bring a sense of calm and balance to everyday life. My designs are rooted in well-being, practicality, and adaptability. I take time to understand how you live and what makes you feel truly at home.
I believe that design should be personal and intentional, not just beautiful. I pay close attention to your routines, personality, and values, so the space feels natural, functional, and fully yours.
One of the things clients value most is my flexibility. I don’t work in just one style. Whether you love minimalism, bold colour, soft textures, or contrast, I adapt to your taste and vision. This versatility is one of the things that makes my work stand out.
Home is a place where everyone should feel good, including pets! From safe materials to cosy nooks and practical layouts, I treat animals as beloved members of the family.
I design with many layers in mind. Natural light, sustainable materials, movement flow, and subtle design elements like rhythm and repetition are all part of how I build a space. I blend aesthetics with function, and emotional comfort with conscious choices.
Approach
I offer transparent pricing that is fair and consistent for everyone. Whether the project is large or small, modest or high-end, my rates remain the same. Every client deserves the same level of respect and value.
While the package structure I offer is flexible and can be tailored by adding or removing services, the pricing principles stay clear and honest. You always know what you’re paying for, and why.
Need just colour advice or help with layout options? That’s possible too! I also offer individual services outside of a package, so you can get exactly the support you need.
Background
I hold a degree in interior architecture from KABK in The Hague and a master’s degree in urban management & development from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where I specialized in sustainable infrastructure and green cities.
I further explored architecture and technology at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, and worked as civil servant at the municipality of The Hague in departments such as Monument preservation & Urban aesthetics, Urban development & Spatial planning, and Water Infrastructure, Structural design and Building systems. These experiences helped me understand how architecture, design and policy come together to shape the built environment.
