ABOUT

My name is Kalina, the creative heart behind KVL Design, a boutique interior design studio based in Voorburg. I create interiors that are refined, functional and deeply aligned with the people who live in them.

I grew up in Bulgaria, endlessly fascinated by how color, shape, and setting come together to influence the way we feel. That early curiosity grew into passion for designing spaces, both in and around the home, that put people first. I pay close attention to personality, lifestyle, and individual needs.

I hold a BA degree in interior architecture from KABK in The Hague and a master’s degree in urban management & development from Erasmus University Rotterdam, where I specialized in Sustainable infrastructure and Green cities. Further I explored architecture and technology at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, and have worked as civil servant at the municipality of The Hague in departments such as Monument preservation & Urban aesthetic; Urban development & Spatial planning; Water Infrastructure, Structural design and Building systems.
Approach:
While the package structure I offer is flexible and can be tailored by adding or removing services, the underlying pricing principles remain clear and consistent. Every proposal is thoughtfully structured and aligned with the scope and complexity of the project. Transparency is essential to my way of working. You always know what you are investing in, what to expect, and how each decision contributes to the overall outcome.
What sets KVL Design apart?
At KVL Design, I design spaces that reflect identity and respond to how life is lived within them. My work balances clarity with material depth and spatial rhythm. Every project begins with a precise understanding of routines, values and long-term use.

My work adapts to different aesthetics without losing coherence. Each project is defined by its context and the people who inhabit it, not by a fixed stylistic formula. This versatility is one of the things that makes my work stand out.
A home should support every member of the household, including pets. From safe materials to cosy nooks and practical layouts, I treat animals as beloved members of the family.
My work is layered and intentional, combining aesthetics with function and depth with conscious decision-making.
