VILLA AMBER
Bloemendaal
Concept
Villa Amber was designed around the idea of creating a home that feels calm, intuitive, and connected. Rather than treating each room as a separate destination, the project was developed as a continuous spatial experience where architecture, materials, and light work together to support everyday life. The goal was to create an environment that feels effortless to live in, balancing functionality with warmth and refinement.
Approach
The design process began by analysing how the home could better support daily routines while creating a stronger sense of connection between the different spaces. Rather than relying on decorative elements alone, the focus was placed on spatial flow, material continuity and atmosphere.
Custom joinery, integrated storage solutions and carefully considered architectural details were used to reduce visual noise and create a sense of order throughout the home. A restrained palette of warm natural materials and soft textures establishes continuity between the spaces, while layered lighting contributes to both functionality and ambience.
Particular attention was given to how the interior changes throughout the day. Natural daylight highlights the warmth and texture of the materials, while the evening lighting scheme introduces a softer and more intimate atmosphere. This approach allows the home to support different activities, moods and moments while maintaining a consistent design language throughout the project.
